Bhutan’s currency is the Ngultrum (Nu.) and 100 Chetrums equal one Ngultrum. The Ngultrum is pegged to the value of Indian rupee. We advise tourists to carry their money in the form of traveler’s cheques (preferably American Express) with a little cash (US Dollars) to meet incidental expenses. A few places accept visa and American express cards.
