Bhutans domestic flight will start by end of 2011.

Bhutan’s one of the first domestic air servise, Tashi Air will start its domestic flight by the end of  2011.  It was supposed to start this month.

David Young, the CEO of  Tashi Air, attributed the setback to the delay in the construction of the domestic airports.

“The airports were not yet ready. We needed to give training at both the airports.”

Tashi Air has already bought a single engine aircraft worth about US$ 3.5 million.

On the safety concerns, the aircraft being equipped with a single engine, he said safety is their first priority.

“I have spent about 20 years with civil aviation in Bhutan and our priority is safety first. And I have no doubts about the Pilatus it is the safest air craft.”

The civil aviation also confirmed that it is safe to operate single engine aircrafts for commercial purpose.
