Mr.Tshering gyeltshen from the team palden groups of companies  hit 14 karays (arrow on the target) in 15 rounds and wins maruti A star car as a best archer of the year  organized by the Yangphel Archery.

In the league round, Tshering Gyeltshen hit 42 Karays in 45 rounds.

Close to him was Gem Tshering and Karma Dorji who hit 13 Karays each. But the second prize went to Gem Tshering after he managed to hit a Karay in the penalty shoot out to win the cash prize of Nu 40,000. Karma Dorji came third. Gem Tshering hit 36 Karays and Karma Dorji had 34 during the league rounds.

Favourite Talop Namgay Wangchuk led the contest till the seventh round with seven Karays, but Tshering Gyeltshen took over from the eighth round. Fifteen best archers participated in the contest.

Yangphel archery’s secretary general Tsewang Rinchen said Namgay Wangchuk will receive a cash prize of Nu 5,000 for setting a record of highest Karay during the league round. He hit 45 Karays in 45 rounds.

Meanwhile, in the seeded archers’ shoot out, which is also known as Pchani Shootout on Saturday, Jamyang Tashi, playing for Country Travels team was declared the gold seeded archer and won Nu 15,000.

Kinley Tshering of Dorji Phalam was the silver seeded and Kinley Dendup of Tertoen Reloaded was the bronze seeded. Of the 120 seeded archers, 56 took part in the shootout.

The prizes will be awarded on September 3 when the tournament concludes.
